Hi Brent,

They've just announced web registration:

Due to the overwhelming response to the announcement of Fredric Jameson's visit to SFU on March 11, 2010, we have found it necessary to institute an online registration system. If you would like to attend this talk, please register at www.sfu.ca/reserve. Please note that we will only have room for invited guests and people who have registered through this website.

Please note, as well, that the room has been changed to accommodate more people. The lecture will now be held in the Segal Centre at SFU Harbour Centre, 515 W. Hastings Street, Vancouver.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause and appreciate your help in letting other people know they will need to register for this talk.

I'm confused. Are these going to be physical events (at VIVO?), , or strictly webcast events?

If you think talented tweets are a misnomer, Friedrich Nietzsche would like to have a word with you. Entire books of his could have been tweets.

I just read this blog post free of charge -- and I think you're a talented writer too. You're not an isolated case either. Prior to coming here, I read some amazing articles on the New York Times, one of the finest bastions of journalism. It was free. Before that, I read Penny Arcade -- and bought one of their prints because I got to read their comics for free.

Albeit, all this content is less than 500 words -- but if the Kindle and iPad remain niche products, the Great Canadian Novel will inevitably die -- just as the music industry is almost dead, and just as network television is beginning to die.
